Peter Bihr

Peter Bihr is a digital strategist who enjoys connecting people, insights and ideas. He is the founder of Third Wave, a company based in Berlin. Third Wave develops strategies and ideas for the digital world, analyzing how digital technologies change our lives and our behaviors, and helps their clients understand and leverage on these changes.

On the one hand, Peter investigates the changes and surface innovators and their insights, explore their thoughts, and tries to make them more accessible to early adopters. This is usually not connected to client work, but driven by interest, curiosity, and a desire to understand the change we should expect through technology. Topics range from Cognitive Cities, Quantified Self and The Internet of Things to secondary screens and many other far-from-mainstream topics.

On the other hand he helps companies understand and harness this change. In other words: looking at commercial use or disruption, or at staying competitive in some way or another – either on the organizational or on the team level.

Before founding Third Wave, Peter worked as a freelancer at clients such as ARTE, Wolters Kluwer, Bertelsmann Stiftung, Google, SPD, Tumblr and several public broadcasters. He also organized events (TEDxKreuzberg, atoms&bits and Likemind).

Peter holds a masters degree in Communications and Media from Freie Universität Berlin (MA) and University of Sydney (MMP) and lived in Berlin, Sydney and Washington, DC. He serves on the advisory board of Social Media Week Berlin, and as a judge for the Lovie Awards and Betapitch.

Peter speaks: English, German
